Join us for a weekend getaway to Færder national park. 

Kayaks, paddle west, spraydeck and paddle is included on this trip.

Meeting place: Sønstegård parking lot at Hvasser

We will begin our journey from Sønstegård parking lot at the very southern tip of Hvasser. On our way to our camping site we will see some great sites lik Uleholmen and Selskjæra which often hosts seals.

On the beautiful island of Vestre Bustein we will find a sheltered and private campsite. Those who whish so can explore the island on foot.


On sunday we will explore the nearby area in our kayaks.


This trip is suitable for new kayakers who wants to learn more about overnight trips. You will also learn more about seaweed, sea shells, edible plants, no trace fires and camping in general.




The weather will decide if we have to alter the locations for parking and camping on this trip.



Vestre Bustein

On this trip you will be learning by doing. Your guide will go through several topics relevant for new sea kayakers:


  • Packing and trimming your sea kayak
  • Foraging for food from the kayak and on land
  • Low trace firemaking and campsite
  • The use of tarp to increase shelter and comfort
  • Seal spotting

A suitable outfit for paddling on this trip can be wool on your upper and lower body, windproof jacket, wetshoes or shoes with a thin sole, beanie and a buff. A wetsuit or dry suit can also be used if you have.
